The 2017 Fishing Season in a wrap!

Happy New Year!!

There were lots of baitfish and loads of striped bass throughout the harbor this season. Many days we would find schools of breaking bass in the morning. Per usual, anglers using live mackerel or live pogies caught some of the larger fish that were harder to come by using flies or lures. Bluefish were scarce  and when they were around, it was "here today and gone tomorrow". That's blue fishing'!And when the blues were running, I was either off the water painting my house or in the office seeing clients.  So it goes... A combination of warm weather and zillions of peanut bunker kept us on the water well into October. As I write this blog, it is a chilly 7 degrees with a wind chill thrown in for good measure ;) Looking forward to warmer days and my 20th season guiding on Boston Harbor.

Be well and fish on!
